The Office of Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness (ORPIE) provides services that help campus leaders make more informed decisions to improve processes, programs, and services that impact student learning and success.

The office works closely with administrators, staff, faculty, students, and the community to support quality student learning and to foster continuous quality improvement. To that end, ORPIE provides data and engages the campus community to effectively utilize data for strategic planning and decision-making.

ORPIE functions include Institutional Research, Strategic Planning, Program Review, Student Learning Outcomes and Accreditation.

Support and/or manage the accreditation process to maintain GWC’s compliance to institutional and federal standards.

Assessments and SLOs

Assessments and SLOs
Facilitate the assessment of student learning outcomes, administrative units outcomes and student services outcomes.

Data Dashboards

Data Dashboards
Create data visualization tools to assist stakeholders to make informed decisions that lead to continuous organizational improvement.

Program Review

Program Review
Develop and disseminate data to assist departments to increase student success and plan its programs to align with the mission and long-term vision of the college.

Research Projects and Surveys

Research Projects and Surveys
Respond to internal and external research requests, produce research reports and administer surveys.

Communications

Communications
Keep the campus informed of changes in state and federal regulations and publicize key findings of research projects and programs.

Due to the high volume of requests and projects the Research Office has received, new request may take longer than the normal 4 weeks to complete. However, each research request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. One of our Researchers will connect with after you submit a research request to provide a more accurate timeline of when your request will be completed.
